DAILY’S PLACE REVIEW

THE DAILY’S PLACE IS A NEW VENUE CONNECTED TO EVERBANK FIELD, LOCATED IN JACKSONVILE, FL. I ACTUALLY STARTED GOING TOWARDS THE TOP BUT WE ASKED THE SECURITY GUY, AND HE SAID ROW 205 (WHERE WE WERE) WAS BELOW, AND ME AND MY PARENTS WERE SURPRISED HERE WAS OUR VIEW:

STAGE 2.JPG
THESE SEATS WERE ONLY $25! IT LOOKS CLOSER IN PERSON.

HERE WAS THE CRAZY HUGE SOUNDBOARD:

STAGE 5.JPG
THAT’S ONLY PART OF IT!

THE CONCERT STARTED AT 7:00 PM AND I GOT THERE AT 5:15 AND WAS THE FIRST PERSON IN LINE, WE ARRIVED WHEN THE V.I.P’S WERE DOING THERE STUFF (NO I WASN’T A V.I.P. BUT HAD A V.I.P. EXPERIENCE (MORE ON THAT LATER ON).

BRYNN ELLIOT REVIEW

BRYNN ELLIOT 4.JPG

THE OPENER, BRYNN ELLIOT CAME OUT, AND SHE SHOULDN’T HAVE BEEN THE OPENER FOR SWITCHFOOT AND LIFEHOUSE. SHE WAS A POP SINGER, A HARVARD JUNIOR WHO REALLY DIDN’T CAPTURE THE AUDIENCE AND WAS WAY TOO OVER-DRAMATIC, TO THE POINT WERE CROWD WAS ALMOST MOCKING HER.

WHEN HER FIRST TWO SINGLES OF HER CAREER ARE “YOU MIGHT NOT LIKE ME”, AND “PSYCHO, STUPID, CRAZY”, IT SAYS A LOT. YOU CAN HEAR THEM HERE:

OVERALL PERFORMANCE RATING: 2.7/5.0

LIFEHOUSE REVIEW

LIFEHOUSE 4

EVEN THOUGH LIFEHOUSE WENT LAST, I’VE PUT SWITCHFOOT LAST DUE TO A REALLY AWESOME REASON YOU’LL SEE IN THE SWITCHFOOT REVIEW BELOW.

SWITCHFOOT BURNED THE HOUSE DOWN LAST NIGHT (PUN INTENDED), AND I ACTUALLY FELT LIKE THE SHOW ENDED WITH SWITCHFOOT’S PERFORMANCE AND A AWESOME CLOSING ENCORE. THEN LIFEHOUSE CAME, FOR SOME REASON LIFEHOUSE COMES AFTER SWITCHFOOT, WHICH IN MY OPINION IS A BAD IDEA, THEY ALSO TURNED THE SOUND WAY UP FOR LIFEHOUSE, BUT NOT SWITCHFOOT WHICH I THOUGHT WAS WEIRD. ANYWAYS, THEY OPENED UP WITH “HURRICANE”, WHICH YOU CAN SEE PART OF BELOW:

LIFEHOUSE WASN’T EXACTLY THE BEST OF CLOSERS. LIFEHOUSE WAS STILL REALLY GOOD, MY FAVORITE SONG BY THEM IS “SPIN,” BUT MY FAVORITE PERFORMANCE FROM THEM LAST NIGHT WAS FIRST TIME, THEY ROCKED THAT ONE. IT SEEMED LIKE A MAJORITY OF THE CROWD WAS A SWITCHFOOT CROWD AND LEFT AFTER SWITCHFOOT PERFORMED. “SPIN” HAD A WEIRD THING AT THE BEGINNING THAT SOUNDED LIKE MUNCHKINS DANCING.

THEY DID AN ENCORE, HAVING THEIR TWO MOST FAMOUS SONGS “YOU AND ME”, AND “HANGING BY A MOMENT” BEING PLAYED.

SET LIST:

  • HURRICANE
  • ALL IN
  • HALFWAY GONE
  • SICK CYCLE CAROUSEL
  • ONLY ONE
  • PRIDE (IN THE NAME OF LOVE)- U2 COVER
  • FLIGHT
  • IT IS WHAT IT IS
  • BROKEN (ACOUSTIC AND UNACOMPANIED)- FALLING IN MIXED IN THE BEGINNING
  • EVERYTHING
  • WHATEVER IT TAKES
  • FIRST TIME
  • SPIN

ENCORE:

  • YOU AND ME
  • HANGING BY A MOMENT

OVERALL PERFORMANCE RATING: 4.0/5.0

SWITCHFOOT REVIEW

SWITCHFOOT HELLO HURRICANE

SWITCHFOOT, AS YOU PROBABLY ALREADY KNOW IS MY FAVORITE BAND. THEY WERE AWESOME! JON FOREMAN STAYED OUT IN THE CROWD FOR ABOUT 2 WHOLE SONGS. DREW SHIRLEY’S GUITAR WAS AWESOME, AND THEY EVEN INVITED A KID UP ON STAGE WITH THEM TO PLAY DARK HORSES. HERE IS SOME SNIPPETS OF “IF THE HOUSE BURNS DOWN TONIGHT” AND “MEANT TO LIVE”:

THEY WERE WILD AND ENERGETIC, AND THE MUSIC WAS AT THE PERFECT VOLUME, AGAIN, THE ENDING TO THEIR PERFORMANCE WOULD HAVE BEEN GREAT GRAND FINALE. THEY EVEN HAD A DISCO BALL DURING FLOAT.

AND TO TOP THINGS OFF FOR $20 I GOT HAND-SIGNED AUTOGRAPHED SETLIST FROM THE SHOW PLUS A AUDIO RECORDING OF THE CONCERT. I WAS SURPRISED TO SEE HOW MANY PEOPLE CAME JUST TO SEE SWITCHFOOT, AS THEY ENTERED WHEN SWITCHFOOT STARTED AND EXITED WHEN SWITCHFOOT WAS DONE. I CAN HOWEVER  SAY THAT I HAD ONE OF THE BEST SEATS IN VENUE. DURING LIFEHOUSE’S PERFORMANCE MY DAD KEPT CHECKING JON FOREMAN’S TWITTER TO SEE IF THERE WOULD DO AN AFTERSHOW, AND IT LOOKED LIKE WASN’T GOING TO BE ONE, SO WE LEFT AFTER THE CONCERT WAS OVER.

WHEN WE GOT HOME, WE CHECKED JON FOREMAN’S TWITTER ONE MORE TIME. IT SAID THIS:

SO, ME, MY DAD, MY MOM, AND MY SISTER (HORSEGIRL2022), WHO DIDN’T GO TO THE CONCERT, WENT ALL THE WAY BACK TO DOWNTOWN AND MADE IT TO THE AFTERSHOW WITH NO TIME SPARE!

AFTERSHOW REVIEW

ME AND MY DAD ARE THE FIRST FANS SEEN ON VIDEO, I GAVE JON FOREMAN TWO HIGH FIVES BECAUSE ONE MISSED. I ALSO FIST BUMPED HIM LATER ON. BEFORE THE SHOW OFFICALLY STARTED, JASON WADE OF LIFEHOUSE SAW A HUGE CROWD OUTSIDE OF THE BUSSES AND WENT AROUND AND STARTED HIGH-FIVING PEOPLE, HE DIDN’T REALIZE JON WAS DOING AN AFTERSHOW, AND HE LEFT AS SEEN ON CAMERA. I TOLD HIM I  WAS GLAD HE PLAYED “SPIN“, AS THAT IS MY FAVORITE LIFEHOUSE SONG, AND HIGH-FIVED HIM.

I GAVE JON FOREMAN MY DRAWING OF HIM, HE SAID IT WAS COOL.

JON FOREMAN OF SWITCHFOOT

JON ALSO DEBUTED A NEW SONG CALLED “SHINE LIKE GOLD” THAT HIM AND JASON WADE WROTE TOGETHER, THEY WILL ALSO BE RECORDING IT WITHIN THE NEXT FEW DAYS ACCORDING TO HIM. YOU CAN HEAR IT BELOW (PRESS PLAY AND IT’LL START FROM THE BEGINNING OF THE SONG.

THE REST OF THE STUFF YOU CAN SEE IN THE VIDEO, MY HAIR WAS CRAZY BECAUSE IT WAS REALLY WINDY.
